2020 has been a challenging year, and whilst we can’t predict 2021, we can prepare for it.
This Christmas, Virunga National Park is taking part in the UK’s largest online match funding campaign. For one week only, donations made to the campaign will be doubled, until we reach our target.
Help Us Prepare for 2021
Faced with coronavirus, Ebola, and the increasing cycles of violence in the region, we have never been more worried about the future of the park. In April, the deadliest attack to date, 12 Virunga rangers lost their lives in a violent militia attack. The first, but unfortunately not the only attack this year. These threats impact our ability to protect the park. By building an emergency fund for 2021, we can respond quickly in times of crisis and ensure our day-to-day operations are not at risk.
One Donation, Double the Impact
Only donations made via Virunga’s Big Give Challenge page from midday on Tuesday 1st December until midday on Tuesday 8th December 2020 will have the opportunity to be doubled.
