The Virunga Belgium Fund is a non-profit association based in Belgium. Created in 2015, the non-profit organization is registered in the company register (0630.664.997) and its articles of association are published in the Belgian Official Gazette (edition of 23 December 2015 under number 15179096). It is legally independent from the Virunga Foundation.
The objective of the Virunga Belgium Fund is to promote the reputation of Virunga National Park, to help finance its management, to support the sustainable development projects it carries out and to help its active or retired staff. To this end, the association carries out various fundraising activities: obtaining public subsidies, collecting donations from individuals and companies, organizing events, selling books, etc. Its members also work to sensitize the public and the Belgian authorities concerning the situation of the Park.
The Virunga Belgium Fund benefits from the approval of the Ministry of Finance which allows a tax reduction to be granted to Belgian donors. To benefit from this tax exemption, payments must be made before December 31 of the current year to the account BE79 7360 3344 2533. Certificates are sent by post and / or electronically at the beginning of the following year. Please remember to indicate ‘donation’ in the notes when making your bank transfer.
Het Fonds Virunga België is een vereniging zonder winstoogmerk gevestigd die werd in 2015 opgericht. Ze is ingeschreven in het handelsregister (0630.664.997) en haar statuten worden gepubliceerd in het Belgisch Staatsblad (zie uitgave van 23 december 2015 onder nummer 15179096). Het is juridisch onafhankelijk van de Virunga Foundation.
Het doel van het Fonds Virunga België is de beroemheid van het Virunga National Park te promoten, het beheer ervan te helpen financieren, de projecten voor duurzame ontwikkeling die het Park uitvoert te ondersteunen en zijn actieve of gepensioneerde medewerkers te helpen. Daartoe voert de vzw verschillende fondsenwervingsactiviteiten uit: het verkrijgen van overheidssubsidies, het inzamelen van donaties bij particulieren en bedrijven, het organiseren van evenementen, het verkopen van boeken, enz. De leden zetten zich ook in om het publiek en de Belgische autoriteiten te sensibiliseren over de toestand van het Park.
Het Virunga Belgium Fund geniet van de goedkeuring van het Ministerie van Financiën om belastingvrijstelling aan Belgische donoren toetekennen. Donaties moeten vóór 31 december van het lopende jaar op de rekening BE79 7360 3344 2533 gestort worden. De attesten worden aan het begin van het volgende jaar per post en/of elektronisch verstuurd. Vergeet niet om ‘donatie’ aan te geven in de notities bij je bankoverschrijving, a.u.b.

Créée en 2015, l’ASBL est inscrite au registre des entreprises (0630.664.997) et ses statuts sont publiés au Moniteur belge (édition du 23 décembre 2015 sous le numéro 15179096). Elle est juridiquement indépendante de Virunga Foundation.
Le Fonds Virunga Belgique a pour objectif de promouvoir la renommée du Parc National des Virunga, de contribuer au financement de sa gestion, d’appuyer les projets de développement durable qu’il porte et de venir en aide à son personnel actif ou retraité. À cette fin, l’association mène diverses activités de récolte de fonds: l’obtention de subsides publics, la récolte de dons auprès des particuliers et entreprises, l’organisation d’événements, la vente de livres, etc. Ses membres œuvrent aussi à la sensibilisation du public et des autorités belges concernant la situation du Parc.
Le Fonds Virunga Belgique bénéficie de l’agrément du Ministère des Finances qui accorde une réduction d’impôts aux donateurs belges. Pour bénéficier de cette exemption fiscale, les versements doivent effectués avant le 31 décembre de l’année en cours sur le compte BE79 7360 3344 2533. Les attestations sont envoyées par voie postale et/ou électronique au début de l’année qui suit. N’oubliez pas d’indiquer “don” dans les notes lorsque vous effectuez votre virement bancaire, s’il vous plaît.
