It is with deep regret that Virunga National Park announces the death of Park Ranger Musubaho Maliro Antwi following injuries sustained after an accident that occurred on Friday 05 July. The body of Ranger Musubaho was transferred to his home village of Kavinyonge where he was laid to rest on Sunday 07 July. He was 28 years of age.
Ranger Musubaho has been a courageous member of Virunga’s Ranger team since 2014 and was assigned to civil protection convoys. We are eternally grateful to him for his dedicated service to Virunga National Park and the communities that surround it. The Park would like to offer its deepest condolences to his loved ones during this extremely difficult time.
Ranger Musubaho is survived by his wife, Kyakimwa Aimée, and their child Mumbere.
