It is with profound sadness that Virunga National Park confirms the death of Ranger TULINABO FATAKANWE Pascal (aged 29 years old) in an attack by suspected members of the Mai-Mai militia.

The assault took place in Virunga National Park’s Central Sector on the morning of 6th February 2023. Two other Rangers were seriously injured and are receiving medical treatment in a health facility in Goma.
