The mission of Congo Conservation Foundation is to support the protection of biodiversity, conservation of critical ecosystems, and advancement of sustainable livelihoods across the Congo Basin.

Virunga National Park forms a central component of the Kivu–Kinshasa Green Corridor — a landscape-scale conservation vision linking protected areas, community lands, and restoration zones across the Democratic Republic of Congo.

CCF currently prioritises grantmaking to support initiatives connected to Virunga and to this broader conservation corridor.

  • Community enterprise and sustainable livelihoods.

Governance & Oversight

Congo Conservation Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors responsible for fiduciary oversight and regulatory compliance. As a US public charity making international grants, CCF retains full discretion and control over all donated funds and ensures that grants are made exclusively for charitable purposes and in compliance with US nonprofit regulations.

Where funds are granted to non-US entities, CCF exercises appropriate oversight, including board approval, written grant agreements, and monitoring requirements. The Foundation maintains governance policies consistent with US nonprofit best practices. Copies of governing policies are available upon request.

Transparency

CCF will file its first IRS Form 990 following the completion of its initial fiscal year. Institutional funders or due diligence teams may request additional documentation by contacting: [email protected]
