Virunga’s work depends on people, infrastructure, and strong relationships with the communities that surround the Park.

When unexpected events occur — whether natural disasters or other emergencies — they can affect not only facilities, but lives.

The recent flooding in Mutsora caused significant damage to staff buildings and equipment and destroyed the Women’s Workshop. Colleagues and local families have been directly impacted.

The Emergency Relief & Recovery Fund allows us to respond quickly and responsibly in moments like this. At this time, contributions to this fund will be directed to recovery efforts in Mutsora.

Your support helps ensure that the people who protect and sustain Virunga have the stability and resources they need to continue their work.

  • Help rebuild staff facilities

  • Replace essential equipment
